Welcome to my first ever Blog. In this space I plan to vent my concerns about the media that concerns me every day -- because I'm part of it -- Television News.

-- I'll post and complain and opine every time I see a story over-covered, under-covered, or overblown by mainstream and not mainstream media (that means you Hannit and Scarborough).

-- I'll post when I see coverage I enjoy and appreciate (it happens) and tell you why you should appreciate and enjoy it, too.

-- I'll post links to excellent, amusing, scary, weird, sad, happy, troubling, disturbing, thought-provoking stories I think everybody should see for themselves.

-- I'll defend my medium from the volley of attacks thrown its way from EVERY other way when it's warranted. (It disturbs me how careless, baseless, and uninformed some media critics are. Both big-time critics (editors, commentators) and small-time critics (bloggers, letter-to-the-editor writers) have a lot they could learn before they lambast a business in which they have no experience and very little understanding.

-- And, I'll offer advice on how to be the "media customer" you can be.
